Cassidy Hooper was born in 1996 in Charlotte North Carolina with a rare birth defect. Cassidy was born with no nose or eyes, and the doctors were uncertain what had caused it and had never seen this before.
People who meet Cassidy are struck by her positive outlook and incredible spirit. Cassidy says she knows things may be hard, doesn’t want things to be easy, she just wants things to be possible.
When she was 11, Cassidy asked her parents for a nose. Her parents knew the surgery would be expensive and extensive, but they wanted Cassidy to be happy.

The doctors took a bone from her rib and skin from her forehead and constructed Cassidy a nose. Three surgeries later, she has a beautiful nose.
